Red Skins? Seriously?
I am a life long Eagles fan (until Easter Sunday) who supported the Eagles since the 70's.
I have been a Donovan fan since he was drafted in 1999. I was NOT one of the idiots thinking we should get a Franchise Running back over a Franchise Quarterback. I have remembered the days of Bobby Hoying and Rodney Peete, so I thought the Eagles did an awesome job drafting a player that you can build a team around. Which they (EAGLES) became among the winningest team since 2000. They are in the same class as the Colts and Patriots. Unfortunately we will never see Donovan retire as an Eagle, by the same, we should have seen Brian Dawkins retire. The Eagles front office thought it would be a good thing to trade our franchise QB to a division rival. The QB with ALL the Eagles records as a QB. Now he will most likely stand in the way of our team to ever sniff another playoff season, let alone a NFC championship game! Everyone who wanted Donovan gone (NOT ME!) has got their wish. I frankly think I will go as an EAGLES fan as well. If everyone is basing Kevin Kolb's future off a blow out garbage time against the Saints & the Start against one of the most horrific teams last year (Chiefs), I think you need to check your football knowledge at the door as you leave. The idea that Donovan has brought class and dignity to a franchise with very little help from the front office over the past 11 years speaks volumes about his ability. The common EAGLES fan is a knuckle dragging idiot that doesn't know football from a cheese steak! I think they forget the last franchise running back the EAGLES had, Ricky "for who, for what" Watters. Now they have run the most popular sold number out of town. They have run the best thing to happen to the Eagles since Dick Vermiel out of town. Shall we forget the days of Gang green with Reggie and Jerome and Seth, free agency hit and we lost most of our player to free agency? We have one of the most prolific passers in this history of the NFL, and every year we have to be faced with trade rumors and speculation that Donovan is leaving. Now it has happened, to a player that wanted to retire as an EAGLE! He is down the I-95 in our hated rival, the Washington Red Skin organization. We will face him twice per season. He WILL make you rue the boos, and the trade talk and the slander he has faced as an EAGLE. He will likely go on to the playoffs as the Eagles prepare for the 2011 season and so on. As the Eagles fell into fourth place, by the swoop of an inner division trade, we will be left to suffer as we will not likely ever get to the place our EAGLES once were. The only thing shall get my attention, is after this horrible decision, the Coach and front office we lose their jobs after the 2010 season. If they were following the lead of the Greenbay Packers and moving forward, let's not forget the Packers missed the playoffs that next season. They still have not been back to where they were with Brett.
Sincerely-
Sorry Former EAGLES fan...
