Brian Snitker named a finalist for NL Manager of the Year
Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

Atlanta Braves manager Brian Snitker is one of three finalists for NL Manager of the Year, MLB announced on Monday night.

Snitker, 68, guided Atlanta to MLB's best record at 104-58, the 2nd straight year Atlanta has surpassed 100 wins. The Braves captured their 6th consecutive NL East title, all under Snitker.

In his career, Snitker is 646-509, with six NL East titles, one NL Pennant, and the 2021 World Series championship.

Along with Snitker, the other two nominees are Miami's Skip Schumaker and former Brewers (and current Cubs) manager Craig Counsell.

Schumaker, a first time manager at the age of 43, guided the Miami Marlins to a 84-78 record and their first postseason berth since the shortened 2020 season. Rather interestingly, he had one of the highest success rates on managerial challenges, at 72.4% (21 of 29).

Counsell, who was announced as the new manager of the Chicago Cubs on Monday afternoon, went 92-70 in his 9th season as manager of the Milwaukee Brewers. Winners of the NL Central for the 3rd time under Counsell, the Brewers were eliminated from the postseason in the Wild Card round be the eventual NL pennant winning Arizona Diamondbacks.

The Manager of the Year awards will be announced on November 14th.
